Able Heating and Air in Culpeper has an immediate opening for an experienced Service Dispatcher to manage the daily schedules of our service technicians and help ensure all customer commitments are met. This position requires a confident communicator with strong process-management skills who can make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.

$20.00-$25.00 per hour

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.

-5:00 p.m. Required overtime may be necessary during peak season, typically May through October.

As our Service Dispatcher, you will play a key role in connecting customers with our field technicians and keeping daily service operations running smoothly. You will manage appointments, prioritize incoming calls, match technicians to jobs based on skill level and location, and maintain clear communication among customers, technicians, and department managers.

• Schedule, prioritize, and dispatch service and maintenance calls
• Monitor technicians' progress and adjust schedules throughout the day
• Keep customers informed of appointment times, delays, and service updates
• Prepare estimates, schedule approved work, and coordinate return visits
• Communicate with warehouse staff to ensure technicians have the necessary parts and materials
• Maintain accurate customer records, job notes, invoices, timesheets, and dispatch tickets
• Monitor open work orders and follow through to completion
• Assist with workload planning, maintenance scheduling, and parts ordering
• Collaborate with technicians and department managers to support efficient daily operations

• At least two years of administrative, process-management, or project-management experience; HVAC or a similar trade industry is preferred
• Prior dispatching experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool service, or another trade is strongly preferred
• Experience using dispatching or field-service software preferred
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong organizational, follow-through, and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple calls and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Customer-focused attitude and ability to build positive rapport
• Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, managers, and office staff
• Dependability and availability to work the required schedule, including seasonal overtime
