Job Description

AECOM Tishman is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to be based in Culpeper, VA
. May 2026 is the expected start date.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of sub-contractor activities within the area of responsibility.
  • Monitor subcontractor personnel to ensure adherence with project plans and promote quality control of all installations.
  • Assist in overseeing activities of construction crafts/trades within an assigned area of responsibility.
  • Receive continual supervision and direction in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
  • Receive technical and operational direction from the assigned Superintendent or Project Manager.
  • Enforce policies, procedures and related work rules as established by Field Management.
  • Assist with compliance of the AECOM Tishman safety program that creates a safe and healthy work environment on the jobsite.
  • Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate, including but not limited to updating drawings, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes and other documents as required.
  • When requested, interface with client, architect, and design professionals to ensure compliance to design intent and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to building good communications between field management, project management, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and specialty contractors to ensure construction complies with plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Continuously expand and update professional knowledge and hone training skills to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Candidate must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Building Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar major.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior internship experience within the construction industry.
  • Experience working on a live construction site.
  • Able to follow directions and interact with all levels of management on a working construction project.
  • Experience engaging with multiple trades on a construction project.

  • Potential availability requirements including off‑hours and weekends, as determined by project requirements.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $24.95 to $43.66 per hour.
