JOB SUMMARY

To coordinate all testing operations for the high school. This will also include training sessions for examiners, processing state reports related to testing, assuming responsibility for online testing component for high school.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks:

  • Create, maintain and implement a school-based assessment calendar within the larger division landscape
  • Coordinate Standards of Learning Assessments for Summer, Fall, Spring, and Expedited Testing. This will include setting up testing sessions in both the paper/pencil and online administrations
  • Coordinate College Board, CTE industry credentials, Virginia Placement Test, and Virginia Department of Motor Vehicle Permit Assessments to include scheduling, registration, administration and reporting
  • Confirm and ensure testing accommodations for students with disabilities, 504 plans, and limited English proficient students are administered according to student plans
  • Train examiners to administer the assessments and ensure testing security is upheld
  • Process state reports related to testing and share with administration
  • Coordinate a data base for all high school students in regards to required verified credits for graduation
  • Process student data and information and maintain confidentiality of this information
  • Coordinate specialized testing, i.e. English Language Proficiency testing, special education as part of the Virginia Assessment Program
  • Coordinate Term Graduate Testing for seniors who need verified credits for graduation. This will include working with departments to arrange remediation sessions
  • Provide content area department heads “Student Performance by Question” reports
  • Develop and implement a school-based examiner schedule
  • Strive to maintain and improve professional competence
  • Attend all staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required
  • Performs other assigned duties

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK

  • Master’s Degree preferred in an applicable field of education or the equivalent in credentialing, training and/or experience
  • Possess or qualify for a professional license and appropriate endorsement as presented by the Virginia Department of Education
  • Preferred minimum of three years teaching experience
  • Be recommended by the Division Superintendent and approved by the School Board
  • Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Standards of Learning Assessment Programs: SOLs, VAAP, WIDA
  • Mastery of advanced spreadsheet functions, data visualization, and large‑scale data manipulation
  • Knowledge and proficiency in basic network and device troubleshooting (Chromebooks)
  • Knowledge of secondary graduation requirements
  • Familiarization with online test delivery system
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to communicate openly and effectively with students, parents, community patrons, staff and administration as a positive representative of Culpeper County School system
  • Maintain good working relationships with all employees and the public
  • Ability to multi‑task and run multiple testing administration at one time
  • Ability to respect confidential information and the individual’s right to privacy
  • Ability to model professional, moral, and ethical standards as well as personal integrity in all interactions within the school and within the community
  • Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is typically performed at a school within the division. Frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting, up to approximately 40 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds may be required. Other limited physical activities are required. Travel to schools throughout the division and central office may be necessary.
