Safety Technician – Industrial / Aerospace Environment

Aerospace and Defense Facility

Position Type:
Contract-to-Hire (Long-Term Opportunity)

$50, Per Diem, Mobilization and Demobilization Mileage.

Position Overview

Seeking a high-performing Safety Technician to support operations at a growing aerospace and defense facility. This role is critical to maintaining compliance, driving safety culture, and supporting complex industrial, hazardous material, and high-risk operations.

This position is ideal for a field-proven safety professional with strong experience in EHS programs, regulatory compliance, and industrial operations
, capable of operating independently while supporting a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily field safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Support and enforce Process Safety Management (PSM) and site‑specific safety programs
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Ensure OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA compliance
  • Maintain OSHA logs and safety documentation
  • Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and risk assessments
  • Oversee hazardous materials and environmental programs
  • Deliver safety training and toolbox talks
  • Support emergency response planning and drills
  • Interface with contractors, leadership, and regulators
  • Drive continuous safety improvement initiatives
Education
  • Occupational Health & Safety
  • Or related field
  • Equivalent experience considered
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years in industrial or construction safety roles
  • Experience with hazardous materials and high-risk operations and explosive environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA regulations
  • Experience in audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
Certifications (Preferred / Strongly Desired)
  • OSHA 30 (Required)
  • OSHA 10 (Preferred)
  • HAZWOPER 40‑Hour
  • NCCER (Safety or Construction)
  • First Aid / CPR / AED
  • DOT Haz Mat Certification
  • Fire Safety / Emergency Response Training
  • Industrial / aerospace facility with:
    • High‑risk operations (mechanical, electrical, chemical)
    • Combination of field presence and administrative reporting
