Flight Paramedic – PHI Health
Job SummaryUnder the direction and supervision of the Base Medical Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing safe, comprehensive care to critically ill and/or injured patients of all ages in pre‑hospital and inter‑facility settings, utilizing flight paramedic principles, emergency procedures, and diagnostics.
Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of specialized functions and complex assessments, diagnoses, therapies and emergency treatment of patients transported by rotor‑wing, fixed‑wing and/or ground.
- Document accurate and complete patient assessment, treatment, and billing information during stabilization and transport.
- Maintain effective communication with management, internal and external customers.
- Participate in activities supporting PR and marketing efforts.
- Attend mandatory meetings, chart reviews, equipment reviews, skill labs, clinical rotations, and continuing education sessions related to flight paramedic care.
- Complete all annual recurrent competency requirements.
- Maintain active paramedic and other required certifications.
- Function under the licensure of the Medical Director; report to Manager of Clinical Services and National Director of Clinical Standards.
- Perform within the regulations and scope of practice of the local Department of Health Services.
- Active paramedic certification in the state of employment.
- Minimum three years (five preferred) current paramedic field experience in a busy 911/pre‑hospital service.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and PHTLS/ITLS certifications; NRP preferred; instructor certifications preferred.
- FP‑C within twenty‑four months of hire.
- Flight or transport experience preferred.
- Successful completion of the PHI Air Medical Group education/orientation program.
- Effective human relations skills for interfacing with all levels of personnel and external customers.
- Basic computer skills for e‑mail and electronic charting.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field preferred.
- Pass pre‑placement physical exam including functional capacity exam, drug screening, and background screen.
- Maintain body weight below 235 lbs.
Full‑time Medical (MED) – Culpeper, VA
Compensation & Benefits- Competitive base pay with shift bonuses, shift incentives, and annual safety/employee bonuses.
- Annual continuing education allowance for clinicians.
- Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000.
