JOB SUMMARY
The Multimodality Technologist I is assigned to work in at least 2 modalities. Must possess a certification in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and/or Radiation Therapy and must be cross-training in CT or possess the CT certification . Assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the imaging equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images.
Integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.
The Multimodality Technologist II is assigned to work in at least 2 modalities. Must possess a certification in Radiology, Ultrasound, Mammography, CT, Nuclear Medicine and/or Radiation Therapy and must be cross-training in MRI or possess the MRI certification . Assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the imaging equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images.
Integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.
Education:
Graduate from an accredited Radiology program.
Experience:2 years of experience in diagnostic radiology preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
Licensure:Must possess a certification in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and/or Radiation Therapy (ARRT and/or NMTCB) and either be cross-training in CT or possess the CT certification. Registry eligible technologists must successfully complete the ARRT CT certification exam within 1 year of hire.
II role-Must possess a certification in Radiology, Ultrasound, Mammography, CT, Nuclear Medicine and/or Radiation Therapy (ARRT, ARDMS, and/or NMTCB) and either be cross-training in MRI or possess the MRI certification (ARRT or ARMRIT). Registry eligible technologists must successfully complete MRI certification within 1 year of hire.
Required:
Thorough knowledge of radiographic equipment and accessories. Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills, capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms, working knowledge of various types of x-ray equipment, able to adapt to various situations and procedures.

Ensures patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.- Explains the procedure and post-procedure orders to the patient to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
- Prioritizes workflow in regard to patient condition and ensures patients’ arrival and departure occur in a timely manner.
- Provides an atmosphere conducive to gain the patient's cooperation and confidence.
- Adheres to as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) standards.
- Utilizes data received from patient satisfaction and practice performance results to identify opportunities to improve and participates in the planning and improvement process.
