Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00, occasional weekends.

Assists in the provision of patient care, therapy support, departmental maintenance, and administrative duties as directed by PT, PTA, OTR/L, COTA, SLP in a therapeutic manner which acts to promote the patient's functional ability and lead to improved quality of life.

• Assist PT/OT/SLP staff in patient treatment under direct supervision of licensed team member.
• Prepare and maintain department treatment rooms and equipment for patient use.
• Assist with clerical duties for department.
• Monitor inventory (including DME as applicable).
• Assist with departmental safety and quality control monitoring.
• Teach basic rehab technician duties to students and volunteers.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• No experience necessary.
• General working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• General knowledge of medical terminology.

• Teamwork: develops and maintains positive relationships with team members and coworkers.
• Functions as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Accepts responsibility for actions; seeks, accepts, and acts positively upon feedback from others.
• Shares responsibility for effective internal communications through a team approach.
• Organizes individual patient caseload in collaboration with team workload demands.
• Performs daily administrative/office activities to ensure efficient flow of care within team.
• Provides orientation and guidance to new rehab staff in work area as requested.

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: constant standing, frequently walking, bending/stooping, proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills, attention to detail, ability to write legibly, and ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.

• May require use of safety equipment such as HEPA mask for infection prevention.
• On call responsibilities as directed.
• Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed.
