The RoleAs a Patient Access Specialist, you will be at the center of the patient experience, serving as a trusted resource for registration, insurance verification, and patient access services across several outpatient areas. This is a fast‑paced, patient‑facing role that requires strong communication skills, flexibility, and a commitment to accuracy.
An Average Day May Include- Welcoming patients and completing registration and check‑in processes.
- Verifying demographic information, insurance coverage, and required documentation.
- Collecting patient signatures and ensuring registration records are complete and accurate.
- Assisting patients with financial assistance resources and helping eligible individuals navigate application processes.
- Supporting scheduled appointments as well as walk‑in services including laboratory visits, imaging, EKGs, and other outpatient services.
- Responding to departmental communications, workflow updates, and system changes.
- Collaborating with teammates and clinical departments to ensure patients move efficiently through the care process.
- Floating between multiple outpatient registration areas including MRI, Surgical Services, Main Radiology, Health Center, and other registration locations as operational needs evolve.
