Job Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Build Manager to lead a team of engineers supporting Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) regions. The role focuses on planning and deploying new data center spaces, building and expanding network and low voltage cabling infrastructure, managing budgets, and driving automation to improve delivery speed and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize and assign tasks to design engineers and project managers, coach and create documentation; manage tasks across medium to large projects.
- Manage projects across multiple AWS regions to ensure on‑time delivery of new data center spaces.
- Oversee installation of network and cabling infrastructure in data center environments.
- Guide, train, and educate staff on best practices related to service owner issues.
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs.
- Provide weekly reports to project stakeholders.
- Coordinate team resources for project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management, maintenance windows, and potential off‑hour support. Recruit and train engineers, host weekly staff meetings, and drive compliance with performance management requirements.
- 5+ years of people management and team development experience.
- 5+ years of engineering work managing large-scale services experience.
- Experience maintaining SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.
- Experience operating a mission‑critical team or product.
- High school or equivalent education.
- 3+ years of experience in a data center technology role and experience with TCP/IP networking, network cabling, optic types, and test equipment.
- Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies installation and design, including network cabling, hardware, and test methodologies.
- 3+ years of work in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
- 5+ years of work in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations, such as feeders, transformers, generators, switch gear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
- Experience leading teams and driving results through team members.
- Experience analyzing metrics to drive business improvements.
- Experience representing the team or technical area to senior management.
- Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, or automation deployments.
- Proven ability to partner with internal and external teams to set technical direction, mitigate conflicts, and prioritize timely delivery for stakeholder teams.

Compensation and BenefitsBase salary range: $129,200 – $193,000 annually.
