Job SummaryThe Shipping Clerk is responsible for the accurate preparation, packaging, documentation, and shipment of finished goods and materials in accordance with customer requirements, company procedures, and industry standards.
Essential Functions- Prepare, package, and ship customer orders accurately and on time.
- Verify shipping documents, packing lists, and labels for accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with customer, company, and regulatory shipping requirements.
- Read and understand customer shipping instructions and documentation.
- Enter shipment data into company databases and ERP systems.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Inspect packages for proper labeling, packaging integrity, and completeness.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and customer service teams regarding shipment status.
- Operate material handling equipment (fork truck, pallet jack) as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Exposure to varying levels of temperature, noise, and dust.
- Extended periods of standing and walking on concrete floors.
- Extended periods of time working on computers.
- Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Consistent unassisted pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, bending, and crouching.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills.
- Experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards.
- Fork truck certification and experience preferred.
- Open availability, including weekends (per company needs).
Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Salary Information- Hourly, non‑exempt.
- Starting rate: $18.00 /hr, commensurate with experience.
