Production Operator in Culpeper

Job Description

The Production Operator works with raw materials - such as fiber optic cables, copper, and steel - and uses specific machinery to transform raw materials into finished products per our customer specifications. All team members are responsible for safety, quality inspections, organization, and maintaining a clean work area.

• Must be 18 years of or older
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 35 lbs as needed
• Ability to follow standard work instructions and adhere to quality control procedures
• Previous manufacturing experience (preferably in high-volume production or assembly environments & including familiarity with safety protocols and PPE usage in a manufacturing setting)
• Experience operating industrial machinery, assembly lines, or automated equipment
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles, 5S, or continuous improvement

The work setting is in a typical manufacturing environment that requires the use of personal protective equipment including safety-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Manufacturing areas may be affected by outside temperatures and machining.

The physical demands represent those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, climb ramps and/or stairs; read and write, work with a computer and keyboard; hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery, sirens, and alarms);

speak to express or exchange ideas with, impart oral information to include instructions; vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
