Pay Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Starting Rate: $18.00/hour
Summary / ObjectiveThe Saw Operator is responsible for supporting production operations by accurately cutting honeycomb blocks into sheets in accordance with production orders. This role includes operating horizontal band saws and forklifts, entering and verifying data in saw computers and scanning systems, completing required documentation, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Functions- Select the correct honeycomb blocks per production orders
- Input accurate data into saw computer systems and scanners
- Read and apply standard measurements and basic math
- Operate horizontal band saws safely and efficiently
- Operate forklifts in accordance with safety standards
- Comply with all quality requirements and production specifications
- Complete required documentation and maintain document control
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including emptying dust collection units and scrap bins
- Visually inspect parts to ensure quality standards are met
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Frequent use of hands for operating tools and equipment
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with dust and noise
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong understanding of basic math and standard measurements
- High attention to accuracy and detail
- Knowledge of industry safety standards
- Previous forklift certification and experience preferred
- Open availability, including weekends and required overtime
Must successfully complete pre-employment screenings
Monday through Friday
Must be available to work any required shift:
- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Sunday–Thursday)
