UVA Health Primary Care Culpeper is seeking an experienced, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician's Assistant to provide outpatient behavioral health services within a collaborative primary care setting. This full-time position offers a four-day workweek (4 x 10-hour shifts) with no inpatient responsibilities.  Experience preferred with ages 5 and up.

Responsible for provision of Advanced Practice Provider services, including assessment and management of patients across all clinical settings, (examples: ambulatory clinic, hospital, assisted living facility, skilled nursing facility/nursing home, ambulatory surgery center, and community settings), within the scope of licensing, training, and credentialing dependent on specialty.

Position Highlights

+ Collaborative support from primary care providers, nursing, and care management teams

Key Responsibilities

+ Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for adolescents and adults.

+ Diagnose and treat a broad range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric disorders.

+ Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based medication management and therapeutic interventions.

+ Prescribe, adjust, and monitor psychotropic medications in accordance with Virginia regulations and clinical best practices.

+ Provide ongoing follow-up care, including symptom management, treatment monitoring, and medication education.

+ Collaborate closely with primary care providers to support integrated patient care and address behavioral health needs within the primary care setting.

+ Coordinate referrals to specialty behavioral health services, counseling, substance use treatment, and community resources as appropriate.

+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a patient-centered, team-based care environment.

Qualifications

+ Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

+ Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

+ Current or eligible Virginia Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licensure.

+ DEA registration and prescriptive authority eligibility.

+ Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric practice experience preferred.

+ Ability to practice independently and manage a diverse outpatient psychiatric patient panel.

** COMPENSATION*
* + During the first two years of employment, the provider will receive a tiered base salary plus a $10,000 guaranteed incentive.

+ Following the completion of the two-year guarantee period, compensation will transition to a tiered base salary plus a wRVU-based incentive model.

Base salary is determined by years of APP experience:

+  
** 0-5 years of experience:**  $105,000 base salary

+  
** More than 5 years up to 10 years of experience:**  $115,000 base salary

+  
** More than 10 years of experience:**  $125,000 base salary

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive);

Attention to detail and ability to write legibly;
Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
