PRIMARY PURPOSEThe primary purpose of this job is to enter orders, schedule work and production, supervise and train team members, receive, store, and stock items, check dates, change pricing of items going out of code, and perform all department tasks as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- At the start of the shift, review the work schedule, check equipment and supplies, comply with PPE requirements, and prepare for duties.
- Perform all tasks and run all equipment associated with deli, carryout, cafe, and cheese.
- Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, tools, equipment, display cases, floors, and counters.
- Make sandwiches, subs, and wraps; label and place them in display cases per SOP.
- Make pizza as per SOP, use turbo chef to cook, remove, cut, and box pizza for customers.
- Help customers, cut and slice meat or cheese, portion deli food into containers, weigh and label items.
- Produce for grab-and-go sections.
- Carry chicken to work table, place on roasting racks, roast in oven, wrap, and label chicken.
- Clean roaster, dump oil, and dispose of oil in rendering bins.
- Dip chicken parts in batter, fill fryer basket with chicken, fry, wrap, and label fried chicken.
- Add oil, filter, and clean fryer as needed.
- Order smoked program items from meat department (if applicable).
- Train and demonstrate smoker program and process.
- Break down and clean specified equipment every 4 hours.
- Push and pull a U-boat to receiving, load with cartons and containers, push to department, unload, and store goods and supplies.
- Identify and follow SOP for marking Flashfood donations.
- Use cleaning tools (wipes, brooms, hoses, squeegees, mop, pail, cleaners, sanitizers) to clean, wash, rinse, and sanitize implements, equipment, cases, floors, and counters.
- Prepare and stock all products in department and sales floor cases.
- Track and record loss using known loss tracking (KLT).
- Maintain temperature charts, sanitation logs, production planning, and other record-keeping functions.
- Organize sales floor cooler and freezer.
- Plan weekly Circular ad.
- Report all accidents and file incident reports to supervisor within 24 hours.
- Obtain First Aid kit for all injuries immediately.
- Follow instructions; ask questions if uncertain.
- Report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
- Adhere to company policy on apparel and footwear.
- No running on the premises.
- Know emergency evacuation routes, exits, and alarms.
- Wear required PPE, including cut-resistant gloves when working with knives or blades.
- Demonstrate proper food safety and sanitation habits.
- Use proper lifting procedures.
- Keep floors and work areas clear and clean.
- Never leave running machinery unattended.
- Smoke-free shop; smoke in designated areas.
- Know MSDS information about materials used.
- Complete Lockout/Tagout training.
- Complete Confined Space training.
- Complete Right-to-Know training.
- Complete any ELM courses added to learning pages.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to communicate and understand company policies and safety regulations.
- Must complete a food safety certification every 5 years and teach new team members its importance.
- Must meet ergonomic and physical requirements, and the physical base scores for this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to use or learn to use equipment and tools required for this job.
- Shift hours: minimum 4-hour shifts or more depending on business needs.
- Job cycles: continual max.
- Lift/carry: 50 lbs.
- Stand 55%, sit 0%, walk 45%.
- Category IV: lifting, carrying, P/P up to 50 lbs.
- Max pull static: 20 lbs.
- Temperature ranges from freezer environment to back room that is not air-conditioned; exposure to weather conditions.
- Team members must understand and follow company policy and procedures as promulgated in the policy and procedure manual and team member handbook.
