Job Duties- Manage daily activities of Security Supervisors, Corrections Officers, and inmates in an institutional setting.
- Supervise and monitor staff on assigned shift to ensure a safe, secure, and productive environment.
- Lead and counsel staff and coordinate work schedules and duty rosters.
- Contribute to the administration of the performance management system for staff.
- Conduct ongoing inspections to maintain security, sanitation, and good order of the institution.
- Interact with management, staff, visitors, inmates, and the public to maintain orderly and secure operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Current Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Certification.
- Considerable experience in corrections or law enforcement.
- Experience supervising corrections staff.
- Experience planning, scheduling, and organizing work, including timekeeping and duty roster management.
- Experience reviewing and evaluating records and reports and applying post orders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of practices and procedures governing security and/or administration.
- Demonstrated ability to receive, understand, follow, and give oral and written instructions.
- Working knowledge in the use of firearms, radio equipment, physical control devices, electric and electronic controls.
- LEAD Graduate or equivalent applicable experience and/or training.
- Experience with evidence-based practices.
- Skills in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook).
