The position of Security Officer Armed Patrol Unit is located in Culpeper, VA
. In this role you will serve and safeguard clients across a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps deter security‑related incidents, and support a welcoming environment through strong customer service and communication. The role demands agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity while responding to site needs with professionalism.

Pay Rate: $25.73 / Hour
Job Schedule: Mon 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM;
Tue 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM;
Wed 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM;
Sat 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM;
Sun 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology‑focused location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and problem‑solving, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts, supervisors, and first responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, data areas, parking locations, and perimeter points to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, and support controlled entry procedures for restricted areas containing equipment, network infrastructure, and other sensitive assets.
- Support investigations related to policy violations, suspicious activity, and workplace concerns while maintaining a professional presence and following post orders, use‑of‑force guidelines, and reporting requirements.
- Possess a CPO certification.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or License.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation as required by federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen as permitted by law.
- Participation in industry‑specific security training programs is required.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
- Valid driver’s license required only for driving positions.
