The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse shipping and receiving operations to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of materials and products. This role provides leadership to warehouse personnel, maintains inventory accuracy, ensures compliance with safety standards, and coordinates with internal departments and external carriers to meet organizational goals.

Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, train, and supervise shipping and receiving personnel.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor employee productivity and performance.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and oversee the preparation, packaging, and shipment of products.
- Verify shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Schedule shipments with carriers and freight providers.
- Monitor shipping deadlines to ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies and customer delivery issues.
- Supervise the unloading and inspection of incoming shipments.
- Verify quantities and condition of received goods against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and recorded in inventory systems.
- Investigate and report damaged or missing items.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and transactions.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventories.
- Identify inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Enforce workplace safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections of warehouse equipment and work areas.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of materials.
- Report and document accidents, incidents, and safety concerns.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures.
- Monitor key performance metrics and recommend operational improvements.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- 3+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and inventory control procedures.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
- Capability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
