Payroll Manager

A growing organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations across several U.S. locations. • Direct day-to-day payroll activities for a team of two.
• Manage payroll processing for employees across multiple states and varying pay schedules.
• Verify payroll records, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate payroll-related reporting, account balancing, and year-end close activities.
• Review employee benefit deductions and partner with HR on benefit administration.
• Support workers’ compensation reporting, audits, and insurance renewals.
• Collaborate with Finance and Human Resources to resolve payroll questions and improve internal procedures.
• Monitor payroll trends, investigate discrepancies, and recommend operational improvements.
• Oversee retirement contribution processing and payroll-related accounting support.
• Participate in special projects focused on automation, reporting enhancements, and payroll efficiencies.

• Previous payroll leadership experience in a multi-state environment.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations and employment tax requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
• Experience with payroll software such as Paychex is beneficial.
