Job Description & How to Apply Below
Our client, a growing CPG company operating across US and International markets, is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:- Lead and oversee the global month-end and quarter-end close processes across multiple legal entities, ensuring timely completion, adherence to established close calendars, and consistent execution of key accounting activities.
- Prepare, review, and consolidate financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including supporting external auditors with technical accounting matters, financial statement disclosures, and related inquiries.
- Oversee trade spend accounting activities, including promotional allowances, customer deductions, chargebacks, and accruals. Ensure transactions are appropriately classified between contra-revenue and operating expenses and reconciled to trade spend management systems.
- Manage accounting for foreign currency transactions, intercompany balances, and FX remeasurement and revaluation activities across multiple subsidiaries, entities, and currencies.
- Collaborate closely with FP&A and commercial teams to ensure trade spend, pricing adjustments, promotional activity, and related accruals are accurately captured and reflected in monthly financial results.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet flux analyses prepared by the accounting team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Contribute to the preparation of management reporting packages and board‑level financial presentations, including analysis of margins and profitability on a net revenue basis.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization of accounting and close processes across entities, leveraging ERP platforms such as Net Suite and other financial systems to enhance efficiency, consistency, and controls.
- Research and evaluate technical accounting matters and assist with the preparation of accounting memos for complex or non‑routine transactions, including revenue recognition, general ledger reclassifications, and intercompany activity.
- Coordinate with external auditors throughout interim and year‑end audit cycles, providing requested documentation and supporting IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and tax‑related audit requirements.
- Lead and support the annual audit process following the fiscal year‑end, including coordinating audit fieldwork, managing PBC schedules, and ensuring timely and accurate resolution of auditor requests.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and day‑to‑day guidance to accounting team members, promoting a culture centered on accuracy, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to ad hoc accounting and finance initiatives, including system implementations, legal entity restructuring, process automation, and other projects designed to improve the scalability and effectiveness of the finance function.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, ACA/ACCA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting/accounting management experience, with prior experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry required.
- Demonstrated experience with IFRS financial reporting is preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with trade spend accounting (promotional allowances, deductions, chargebacks, and related accrual/reconciliation processes) is required.
- Experience with foreign currency transactions, FX exposure, and multi‑currency consolidation is required.
- Proven experience managing or directly owning the month‑end close process in a multi‑entity environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP in addition to IFRS, given the company's predominantly U.S. sales base.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite or similar) and trade spend/deduction management platforms (e.g., Vividly or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial reporting and consolidation tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally with FP&A, Sales, and Operations.
- High degree of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
