ABOUT USEstate Design & Construction, Inc. is a Southern California general contractor delivering general construction, specialized, and public works projects. Our reputation is built on work that passes inspection the first time, crews that go home safe, and clients who come back for the next project.
ABOUTTHE ROLE
We are looking for a hands‑on Quality Control / QA Manager to be our eyes in the field. You will move between active job sites, verify that the work in place matches the plans and specifications, keep safety standards high, and make sure every subcontractor fully understands their scope of work before and during construction. A company vehicle and company‑paid gas are provided, because you will be on the road between sites every day.
WHATYOU WILL DO
- Inspect active job sites and verify that all work in place meets the approved plans, specifications, submittals, and applicable codes
- Walk the scope of work with every subcontractor before they start, and confirm they fully understand what is expected, where their work begins and ends, and the quality standard we require
- Identify, document, and photograph deficiencies, then issue and track punch lists through correction and final sign-off
- Monitor jobsite safety and Cal/OSHA compliance, correct unsafe conditions immediately, and stop work when a hazard requires it
- Verify subcontractor labor compliance, including certified payroll and prevailing wage documentation on public works projects, so that the workers on our sites are properly paid
- Produce daily field reports, inspection logs, and photo documentation for every site visit
- Coordinate closely with project managers, superintendents, city and agency inspectors, and testing labs
- Support special inspections, materials testing, RFIs, and project closeout documentation
- Set and hold a consistently high quality standard on every project, and coach crews and subcontractors to meet it
- Minimum 5 years of quality control or QA experience on general construction, specialized, and public works projects
- Hands‑on knowledge across the trades we build: concrete, asphalt, interior renovation, parks, roofing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, framing, and foundations
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and testing reports
- Working knowledge of California building codes, Cal/OSHA requirements, and public works standards
- Familiarity with prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements on public projects
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to hold subcontractors accountable while keeping the schedule moving
- Organized documentation habits and comfort with field reports, photo logs, and construction management software
- Valid California driver license and a clean driving record, since a company vehicle is provided
- Willingness to travel daily between job sites throughout our working area
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a strong plus
- OSHA 30, ACI, ICC, or similar certifications are a plus
This is a field‑based role. You will rotate between active job sites across our working area:
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS- $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
- Company gas covered for work travel
- Full‑time, year‑round work with a steady pipeline of private and public projects
- Direct access to ownership and real influence over how we build
