Our team manages Apple’s global real estate portfolio, leads capital construction projects, provides facilities and site services, and develops sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact across all Apple facilities. The Environmental Health & Safety team is growing and we are looking for an upbeat, dedicated professional to protect the environment, health, and safety of employees, customers, and the global communities where we operate.

As Apple’s EHS Lead, you will provide all aspects of EHS support across a variety of workplace settings including office spaces, content production stages, and research laboratories. You are a self‑starter who can work independently, anticipate the needs of the team, and take initiative to seek out improvement opportunities. You are inventive, ambitious, and highly organized and enjoy solving problems in creative ways in a fast‑paced environment.

Description

As an Apple EHS Lead, you have a deep understanding of occupational health and safety requirements and workplace evaluation, as well as knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and laws. A proven track record of effective interaction and influence is crucial.

Responsibilities
  • Perform EHS inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and global standards
  • Coordinate chemical inventories, emergency evacuation drills, new equipment and chemical reviews, operational risk assessments, and regulatory agency inspections, completing assigned compliance tasks in a timely manner
  • Conduct incident investigations and develop corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences
  • Stay up to date on regulations and standard processes, and make recommendations for improvements to procedures and programs
  • Handle EHS documentation and record keeping, ensuring all vital permits and reports are completed accurately and on time
  • Act as a point of contact for EHS related inquiries and concerns from employees and onsite contractors
  • Coordinate and respond to onsite emergency response efforts
  • Participate in the review of operations, processes, and procedures at the proposal/design phase and throughout implementation to control and reduce EHS hazards
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement EHS initiatives and improvements, and provide mentorship and training to employees on procedures and practices to promote an outstanding culture
Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of EHS experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant EHS discipline
  • Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies
  • Experience in developing, maintaining and implementing written EHS programs and processes, tools, and materials
  • Experience providing laboratory and facilities EHS support
  • Ability to be on call and work off hours as needed, and be comfortable acting as a first responder in emergency scenarios
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a relevant EHS discipline
  • EHS experience in multi‑national companies
  • Nationally recognized professional credentials (for example, Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM))

Base pay for this role ranges from $124,100 to $186,500, and will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments and relocation assistance.
