Work Hours:
This role follows a four-day, 10-hour shift model.
Schedule:
You should typically expect to work Thursday through Sunday, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends to align with live race coverage.
- Schedule:
4x10-hour shifts per week - Availability:
Primarily Thursday through Sunday (could change to Wednesday through Saturday), including late nights and weekends based on race and match calendars.
- Live Event Support:
Provide technical support for live streaming sports and high-profile productions. - Platform & Network Monitoring:
Monitor the health of the live event platform, ensuring both inbound and outbound traffic is healthy and optimized for the end-user experience. - Incident Management:
Act as the onsite point of contact for troubleshooting video/audio issues under real-time pressure. Execute escalations and coordinate with partners/vendors. - Transmission Check-ins:
Assist in broadcast transmission check-ins and signal validation for remote productions. - System Configuration:
Work with operations teams to configure routing, intercoms, and broadcast equipment in real-time. - Documentation:
Create and update playbooks, author Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports, and provide high-level summaries for outage reports. - Technical Maintenance:
Perform broadcast equipment installations, including basic wiring and electrical maintenance within the monitoring facility.
- Experience:
3–5 years of experience in broadcast engineering, live production, or video transport. - Live Sports Background:
Proven track record supporting live sports workflows (e.g., MLS, F1, or similar high-stakes environments). - Network & Transport Knowledge:
Strong understanding of network support, video transport technologies, and live encoding. - Signaling Protocols:
Familiarity with Transport Stream signaling (SCTE-35, SCTE-224/ESNI). - Production Engineering:
Solid grasp of remote production engineering and broadcast hardware.
- Communication:
Ability to provide clear updates during high-pressure incidents. - Documentation:
Strong technical writing skills for incident logging and process improvement. - Adaptability:
Comfortable with a fluid schedule that changes weekly based on the global sports calendar.
