Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IBM Data Stage Consultant with 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Data Stage administration, production support, Unix, shell scripting, relational databases, and Python programming. The consultant will be responsible for supporting ETL operations, resolving production issues, managing scheduling tools like Control-M, and providing support for Gentran and related integrations. Experience with Snowflake is an added advantage.

Required Skills

• 6–8 years of experience with IBM Infosphere Data Stage
• Strong understanding of Unix servers, shell scripting, and Cron jobs
• Experience in creating, debugging, and maintaining shell scripts
• Hands-on experience with Python programming
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
• Production support and incident management experience
• Experience working with job scheduling tools such as Control-M

Good to Have Skills

• Understanding of Snowflake platform
• Exposure to support and administration of IBM Sterling Gentran
• Experience analyzing custom Java programs
• Knowledge of MS SQL stored procedures
• Experience working with Pager Duty configurations

Roles & Responsibilities

Data Stage Support & Administration

• Analyze and troubleshoot job failures in Data Stage applications and Unix servers
• Perform code migrations across environments
• Create users and assign roles/access as required
• Work with IBM Support for tool-related issues and escalations
• Unlock hung jobs/sessions and resolve runtime issues
• Review, debug, and support shell scripts and Python code associated with ETL jobs
• Provide ongoing monitoring and support for production ETL processes

Control-M Administration

• Take corrective action for job failures (kill, force-complete, hold, rerun, etc.
