Description
The (Temp) Associate Media Director leads regional and local media strategy, guiding cross‑channel planning, client partnership, and team development. This role serves as a senior strategic partner—translating business objectives into integrated media approaches, elevating the agency’s cultural point of view, and ensuring operational excellence across planning, activation, and financial stewardship. The AMD is accountable for driving innovation, strengthening client relationships, and team collaboration.
Responsibilities- Own the development of comprehensive regional/local integrated media strategies that directly ladder up to client business goals.
- Lead the media planning process across all channels, including audience analysis, media mix recommendations, and budget allocation.
- Translate cultural trends, marketplace shifts, and emerging technologies into actionable recommendations for clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of media plans.
- Serve as day‑to‑day senior contact for LDA Account leads, cross‑agency partners, and key clients, ensuring strategic alignment, clarity of deliverables, and proactive communication.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media vendors and partners to stay abreast of trends, changes in the marketplace, and first‑to‑market opportunities.
- Manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization. Ensure KPIs and success metrics are defined and tracked.
- Support financial stewardship, including billing alignment and reconciliation in partnership with finance teams.
- Ensure flawless execution across planning, investment, trafficking, QA, and reporting workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
- 7–9 years of media planning experience within an agency environment, with proven leadership of cross‑channel initiatives.
- Proven track record of successfully managing media campaigns and delivering results.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data‑driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Proficiency in media planning tools and software.
- This role requires frequent travel (45%+) for client meetings and team collaboration.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; the associated discipline; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); and the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
