Description

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality across the organization. This role leverages Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to drive sustainable change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze manufacturing and business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Lead and facilitate Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 6S initiatives.
  • Conducts root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report progress to leadership.
  • Train and mentor staff on continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in process optimization.
  • Be innovative and drive improvement projects.
  • Be self-motivated, finding corrections weekly.
  • Other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location you are in while performing your job responsibilities. This includes at a customer or supplier location. Must meet requirements for PPE in specific manufacturing areas when you are in those areas including safety shoes and safety glasses.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations Management.
  • At least 2+ experience in manufacturing, operations, or process improvement roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies & tool set such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Shopfloor Management.
  • Experience with ERP systems, SAP is a plus.
  • Experience as a Manufacturing / Production Engineer.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools (e.g., Excel).
  • Experience with process mapping, value stream mapping, and DMAIC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects.
