Equipment Operator I
It is the responsibility of the Equipment Operator I to operate various saw equipment and/or ultrasonic welding machinery to prepare material to specified sizes and quantities in accordance with work orders, bills of materials, manufacturing specifications, and engineering drawings.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Read and interpret production work instructions, work orders, bills of materials/operations, and quality plans.
- Set up and operate the ultrasonic welding equipment and saws in accordance with work instructions and work orders.
- Verify seam type requirements based on work orders; perform cuts using handheld rotary shears as needed.
- Operate and maintain automatic band saws to ensure optimal performance.
- Complete tasks efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Retrieve materials from storage racks or shuttle locations as required.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Use fixed and variable measuring equipment accurately to ensure quality standards are met.
- Cross train on different job tasks within the department.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 6S practices.
- Follow all safety policies and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Work overtime as needed to meet operational demands.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.
Safety and Personal Protective Equipment:Must adhere to all safety rules in effect for the location while performing job responsibilities, including customer and supplier locations. Must meet requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in designated manufacturing areas, including safety shoes and safety glasses. When working off-site, the employee is expected to comply with site-specific safety requirements and instructions.
