Retail Store Associate (FT)

We currently have an opportunity available for a full-time Retail Store Associate in our Surplus City store. We are looking for a friendly, out-going person to assist customers at our LaVale, MD store.

• The store associate completes tasks that support the Store Manager and overall customer base.
• These tasks may include restocking shelves, organizing supply rooms or managing the cash register.
• Provide customer support in all departments.

• Greet customers as they enter the location.
• Answer customer questions, respond to customer requests and resolve customer issues.
• Complete accurate and efficient register transactions.
• Perform inventory duties such as unloading, scanning and stocking products onto the shelves.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to perform simple calculations.
• Extensive knowledge about the store product and services and customer-related policies.
• Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system.
• Integrity.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• General Knowledge of Fabrics and Crafts is a plus.
• Knowledge of Hardware is a plus.

• Prolonged period of standing and walking throughout retail space.
• Must be able to bend, reach and lift up to 50 lbs.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Successful completion of job training period.

• Demonstrate leadership qualities and promote a positive, safe and clean work atmosphere.

• Store hours Monday - Saturday: 8am to 8pm and Sunday: 10am to 5pm.
