High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to read and write in English, supplemented by six (6) months experience in general labor work.

Possession of a valid CDL Driver's License (minimum Class B with Air Brake Endorsement) and eligibility to be insured under the County’s motor vehicle insurance policy. Must be able to pass the prescribed physical for this position.

Knowledge of: hand tools and miscellaneous construction equipment, including use, care, and maintenance; and common safety practices. Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and willingness to learn to operate trucks and heavy equipment. Ability to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and endurance and to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pound objects. (A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

This is a bargaining unit position at an hourly rate of $23.83 with and a complete County benefits package including health and life insurance, paid leave, and pension.
