Purchasing Manager
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager with strong expertise in purchase order (PO) management to oversee and optimize our procurement operations. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle, vendor management, cost control, and ensuring timely and accurate procurement of goods and services.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing high-volume purchase orders, implementing PO controls and systems, and driving process improvements across procurement functions.
Purchase Order Management- Oversee the full purchase order lifecycle from requisition to approval, issuance, receipt, and reconciliation
- Ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper authorization of all purchase orders
- Monitor open POs, backorders, and delivery timelines to ensure on‑time fulfillment
- Resolve discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, invoices, and receiving
- Maintain accurate PO documentation and audit trails
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Evaluate supplier performance and manage corrective actions as needed
- Identify alternative vendors to reduce risk and improve cost efficiency
- Implement and maintain purchasing policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial guidelines
- Optimize ERP/MRP purchasing modules for efficiency and reporting
- Lead initiatives to automate and streamline PO workflows
- Monitor purchasing budgets and control spending
- Generate reports on PO status, spend analysis, and vendor performance
- Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate 3‑way matching (PO, receipt, invoice)
- Support audits related to purchasing and procurement activities
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Inventory teams
- Provide training on purchase order procedures and best practices
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience
- 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong experience managing high-volume purchase orders
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
