Speech Language Pathologist

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation to classroom teachers on the development of language.
• Assist teachers and teacher aides in developing language‑based classroom activities.
• Assist parents in learning ways to increase language stimulation in the home.
• Provide individual services to children considered to have speech and/or language disabilities.
• Assess needs in the area of speech, language, and hearing and prepare diagnostic reports.
• Serve as a member of a team that will develop an individual education program for each pupil enrolled.
• Complete other duties as required by the Special Education Administrator.

• Hold an appropriate Rhode Island certificate by date of hire (Rhode Island offers reciprocity with over 30 states).
• Experience with children is preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
• Certification(s) in relevant field, including CPI certification.
