In addition, a Speech and Language Pathologist is expected to:
- Provide consultation to classroom teachers on the development of language.
- Assist teachers and teacher aides in developing language-based classroom activities.
- Assist parents in learning ways to increase language stimulation in the home.
- Provide individual services to children considered to have speech and/or language disabilities.
- Assess needs in the area of speech, language, and hearing and prepare diagnostic reports.
- Serve as a member of a team that will develop an individual education program for each of the pupils enrolled.
- Other such duties as required by the Special Education Administrator.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants must hold an appropriate Rhode Island certificate by their date of hire. Rhode Island offers reciprocity with over 30 states across the country. Experience with children is preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred. Certification(s) in relevant field. CPI certification. Compensation Range:
