** Scheduled Work Days & Work Hours**### REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT:
** KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, AND CAPACITIES: A
** thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, procedures, and technology of the marine construction, coastal structures, and engineering, dredging, navigation principals is required in order to coordinate all aspects of commercial marine infrastructure in the State; a thorough knowledge of the principals and practices of engineering, state and federal environmental laws and regulations as they relate to all aspects of marine infrastructure construction and maintenance;
the ability to analyze, interpret, and apply laws, rules and regulations; the ability to gather geophysical data (hydrographic, side-scan and sub-bottom) interpret geophysical information, tides, currents and meteorological data as it relates to new and existing marine infrastructure; the ability to research, analyze and apply scientific work as it applies to materials, environmental impacts. sediments, foundations. sea level rise; the ability to prepare, interpret and analyze highly technical reports and scientific documents, proposals and technical correspondence;
the ability to design a system of essential infrastructure records including lease holders and payments, implement and manage the system; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with federal, state and local, private and public agencies and organizations; the ability to establish and maintain effective working groups for working waterfronts, dredging and navigational needs; the ability to supervise staff;
and related capacities and abilities.

Such as may have been gained through; possession of a degree in civil engineering or a closely related field; and Exgerience:
Such as may have been gained through: considerable employment in a responsible supervisory position involving the performance of complex professional work in the field of coastal policy development and planning, with related work in marine infrastructure management. dredging and dredged material management. port safety and harbor management. and submerged lands management analysis and planning.
Or: any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
** SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
** Possession of a Rhode Island Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain such licensure through reciprocity within 6 months from date of hire and must maintain such licensure as a condition of employment.## Supplemental Information Possession of a Rhode Island Professional Engineering License, an Engineer-in-Training certificate, or the ability to obtain such licensure through reciprocity within 6 months from date of hire and must maintain such licensure as a condition of employment.
Hours:
Monday through Friday 8:30am - 4:00 pm with evening hour meetings as needed.#
