Position Summary
Staff Network Engineer – Enterprise Level – Cumberland, RI. Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network security systems; building resilient network architecture; managing Cisco ACI Fabric and Nexus Dashboard tools; leading projects to meet business and technical requirements. Telecommuting available. Multiple positions.
Responsibilities- Design, configure, and deploy network security systems that meet organizational requirements.
- Develop and maintain network security policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Integrate network security with other security and networking technologies.
- Manage Cisco ACI Fabric as product owner and oversee routing, switching, and SDN operations.
- Coordinate with business partners, project managers, infrastructure teams, and vendors to deliver and sustain service level agreements.
- Break down complex business requirements into actionable network solutions.
- Maintain networking diagrams with Visio and provide level‑4 operations support.
- Monitor network performance, conduct assessments, testing, and remediation to improve security posture.
- Document designs, configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate across IT, security, and operations to align network security with business goals.
- Communicate project progress, incidents, and performance to stakeholders.
- Assist auditors with network-related audits and assessments.
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the field. Requires two (2) years of experience in each of the following areas:
- Core networking principles: routing, switching, security, and ACI technologies.
- Routing and switching protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VXLAN, or EVPN.
- Spanning Tree, Port Channels, or Virtual Port Channels (vPC) for ACI fabric maintenance.
- Designing and implementing ACI solutions based on business requirements.
- ACI Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) to manage and configure fabric.
- Managing technical teams and collaborating with data center engineers, architects, operations and security personnel.
- ACI concepts, architecture, and best practices.
