DescriptionA rare opportunity to join the in-house Safety Assessment team a global speciality chemical company. We are looking for a toxicologist with specific interest in NAM (New Approach Methodologies) – in-vitro and in-silico methods for predicting chemical hazard and safety.
You will join a team of human health and ecotoxicologists tasked with providing toxicological expertise, including up to date advice on NAM s, to internal stakeholders. The team’s ethos is continuous innovation, to remain at the cutting edge of hazard and safety assessment science – you will develop scientifically and personally. Duties will include provision of toxicological product and substance specific support to internal customers with an emphasis on novel non-animal approaches to hazard and safety assessment, contribution to the evolution of their approach to hazard/safety assessment to deliver to the current and future needs of their business units (i.e. use of in silico tools, read across, NAM s), deliver technical input into strategic decision making of the Global Safety and Regulatory Affairs Groups.
To help remain at the cutting edge of this new toxicological approach, you will participate in workshops, Trade Associations meeting, and conferences supporting alternatives to animal testing. You will become a recognised contact person / expert for NAM toxicology topics.
We are looking for a junior toxicologist with a degree/higher degree in a tox or pharmacology related subject and ideally 1-2 years’ experience in an industrial toxicology role, assessing the safety and hazards of any chemical-based products.
An interest in NAM , in-vitro and in-silico methods would be very attractive.
