Job Overview

The role of a Service Maintenance and Repair Technician is multifaceted and impactful. You will be the friendly face who provides first‑class service and repair work, whether at customers’ workplaces or homes. As part of our mobile mechanic team, you’ll attend appointments to complete service inspections, handle breakdowns, provide on‑spot repairs, and keep vehicles running smoothly. Comprehensive training and ongoing support will help you excel in this role.

Working

Hours

Monday – Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. with optional overtime available on the end of your shift.

Responsibilities
  • A communicator:
    Master diagnostics and clearly explain situations to customers, ensuring they feel safe and confident.
  • A self‑starter:
    Work independently or within a team, driving to various locations in all weathers. No two jobs are the same.
  • A fixer/problem solver:
    Use your technical ability to solve a variety of issues, whether roadside or at an appointment.
  • Represent the UK’s largest motoring organisation with professionalism, being the superhero for our members and ever‑ready to help.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with demonstrable industrial experience in a workshop environment.
  • Full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
