Assistant Controller

Salary $110,000 - $150,000 per year

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Permanent Assistant Controller to join our dynamic construction team. This role is integral to our financial operations and requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and an ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a CPA and 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably within the construction industry.

• Assisting the Controller in managing all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring they are completed in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP principles.
• Assisting with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
• Participating in preparation for the annual audit.
• Assisting in developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Liaising with our Finance and Operations teams to improve financial procedures.
• Assisting with special projects as required by management.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
