Property Accountant

Position Overview:
The Property Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting for an assigned portfolio of properties. This role includes preparing monthly and annual statements, managing AP/AR, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with property management to resolve accounting issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, income statements, and variance analysis.
- Record amortization, depreciation, accruals, and month-end journal entries.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions for assigned properties.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor property cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and financial regulations.
- Assist with property budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with property managers and other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in multifamily or real estate.
- Proficiency with property management accounting software (Yardi, MRI, or Onesite).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
