Our Controller is responsible for overseeing an organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and timely delivery of financial information to support business decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare‑specific accounting standards.
- Prepare and review financial reports, variance analyses, and management dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations related to long‑term care financial operations.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Assist with Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and reimbursement documentation.
- Lead the annual budgeting process for all facilities and corporate operations.
- Develop financial forecasts and cash‑flow projections.
- Partner with operations leadership to analyze performance and guide financial decision‑making.
- Serve as a financial advisor to executive and facility leadership.
- Provide insights to improve profitability, efficiency, and financial controls across the organization.
- Support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, or facility integrations as needed.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing direction, training, and performance feedback.
- Develop streamlined processes to improve accuracy and efficiency within the department.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
- 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience in long‑term care, skilled nursing, senior living, or healthcare services strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and healthcare reimbursement practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP software; advanced Excel skills.
