St. Brendan the Navigator is a close-knit and rapidly growing Catholic parish community serving nearly 5,000 families. We are seeking a musician-leader capable of cultivating a parish culture of beauty, reverence, and excellence in sacred music. This role is ideal for someone who understands that sacred music is sung prayer – integral to the Church’s worship and the spiritual vitality of our parish.

    Principal liturgies feature traditional choirs and instruments; designated Masses offer contemporary music that remains authentically sacred.
Core Responsibilities
  • Plan repertoire faithful to the Church’s liturgical norms and seasons; prepare music for major feasts and parish liturgies.
  • Provide accompaniment and musical leadership for Masses, weddings and funerals.
  • Direct and develop choirs and ensembles; recruit, audition, train, and schedule cantors and musicians.
  • Collaborate with the Pastor and parish staff to ensure dignified, prayerful, and consistent liturgical leadership.
  • Foster congregational participation and musical formation with charity and professional excellence.
Weekend Mass Rhythm
  • Six weekend Masses:
    Saturday Vigil;
    Sunday 7:00am, 9:00am, 11:00am, 12:30pm, and 5:00pm.
  • 9:00am & 11:00am:
    Traditional choir and instrumentation;
    Vigil & 5:00pm are contemporary yet reverent.
  • 7:00am & 12:30pm:
    Simpler, with assistants as the program grows.
Qualifications
  • Practicing Catholic with love for the sacred liturgy and understanding of Catholic history, principles and music theory.
  • Proficient in voice, organ, piano, with demonstrated choral directing experience. A recording (on a flash drive or other storage medium) demonstrating these skills is strongly recommended.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills; degree in Music or equivalent professional experience preferred.
