Position: Customer Service Representative 1 or 2

Description

This position is open to all qualified applicants and is currently available. The role is subject to close at any time once a satisfactory applicant pool has been identified.

Location

Forsyth County Environmental Health Department, 514 W Maple St, Cumming, GA 30040 (will move into the new County Administrative Building, by April 1 2026 off Freedom Parkway).

Work Hours

Monday‑Friday 8 am – 5 pm; one hour lunch break.

Job Responsibilities
  • Under direct supervision, work and communicate with the general public, internal customers, or external customers to provide information and services targeted to meet customer expectations.
  • Under general supervision, work and communicate with the general public, internal customers, or external customers; resolve complicated issues involving customer service and/or research governing policies, procedures or laws to respond to clients or visitors.
  • Answer phones for the Environmental Health department.
  • Maintain client accounts and records.
  • Accept payments for services.
  • Assist EHS staff with correspondence and gather all information required to meet EH program procedures and expedite the permitting process.
Minimum Qualifications Customer Service Representative 1

High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience communicating information in a customer‑service setting.

Customer Service Representative 2

High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience communicating information in a customer‑service setting; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Customer SVC Rep 1 (GST
120) or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish.

Additional Information

Current state employees are subject to state personnel board salary rules. DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by CHEA or the US Department of Education. Applicants may be required to provide an official college transcript and undergo pre‑employment drug screening, criminal background check, and verification of educational credentials.
