Pinecrest Academy, a PK-12 Catholic private school in Cumming, Georgia, seeks dynamic individuals to serve as Substitute Teachers in our Lower, Middle, and High Schools for the upcoming school year.

The Substitute Teacher is accountable to the Principal and is responsible for providing classroom coverage for teachers who are absent. The substitute works the regular hours of the absent teacher—including lunch, carpool, and aftercare duties—and serves on an as-needed basis throughout the school year. Substitute teachers carry out the daily curriculum provided and must create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for students.

Ideal candidates possess Christian values along with previous teaching experience, substituting experience, or volunteer or work experience in child/student-related activities.

• Teaches content and skills in the subject area, using curriculum designated by Pinecrest Academy and other appropriate learning activities.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed for an orderly, productive classroom environment.
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve learning, health, and attitude problems.
• Communicates with teachers and school counselors regarding student progress or issues.
• Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.

Previous teaching experience, substituting experience, or additional experience volunteering or working with children or students. Candidates should demonstrate Christian values and a commitment to a nurturing learning environment.
