What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Conduct loss analysis and research to assess policyholder safety efforts and detect hazards
  • Prepare and submit reports of findings to management, making recommendations for improvements
  • Evaluate policyholder safety programs and work sites for hazardous conditions

    Provide underwriters with information regarding the safety levels of policyholders
  • Mentor and guide Safety and Loss Control Trainees as needed
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time experience in occupational safety management or consulting
  • Knowledge of risk management as it relates to safety and industrial hygiene
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Master’s degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene from an accredited college or university
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or related certifications
  • Familiarity with Federal OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and NFPA standards
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience conducting Industrial Hygiene testing
