Testing Supervisor
The Testing Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising test operators to ensure testing activities are completed on time and meet required quality, accuracy, and safety standards. This role requires hands-on knowledge of testing processes, particularly for networking and communication products, and the ability to train, guide, and develop testing personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and assign daily testing tasks to test operators to meet production and project schedules.
- Ensure all testing activities are performed in accordance with test procedures, test plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety requirements.
- Possess hands-on capability in testing networking and communication products, or demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and master required testing techniques and tools.
- Support and participate in testing activities when necessary to troubleshoot issues, validate results, or meet delivery commitments.
- Train new test operators and continuously improve the technical skill level of existing testing personnel through on-the-job coaching.
- Monitor test results, identify failures or abnormal conditions, and work with Engineering, Support Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve issues.
- Ensure proper execution of functional, system, and regression testing as required by product stages (NPI, pilot run, or mass production).
- Track daily testing progress, tester utilization, yield, and efficiency, and report status, risks, or issues to management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to testing processes, coverage, efficiency, and product quality.
- Ensure proper use, calibration, and basic maintenance of test equipment, fixtures, and tools.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in testing operations, preferably related to networking or communication products.
- Hands-on testing skills, or strong willingness and ability to learn testing techniques, test procedures, and equipment operation.
- Prior experience supervising or leading operators or technicians is preferred.
- Basic understanding of hardware testing, production flow, quality control, and failure analysis.
- Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
- Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to work under schedule and production pressure.
- Basic computer skills for test reporting, documentation, and data tracking.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Support Engineering or related work experience. OR Associate's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience. OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
* Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one year (Master's = one year) of work experience.
