We are currently searching for an experienced Roadway Engineer in Training to support our Southeast Region located in Atlanta, GA or Forsyth County, GA
.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering.

What you'll be doing:

Collects and analyzes data for inclusion in Project Plans and reports
Assists and prepares project plans using the latest CADD software including but not limited to Microstation, Open Roads, and AutoCADD
Contributes to the preparation and/or modification of engineering reports and calculations for a wide variety of projects
Prepares and assists in the preparation of project construction quantities and cost estimates
Prepare and assist in the preparation of project specifications
Review project quantity estimates, details, and check calculations and drawings for compliance to project requirements
Prepare and assist in the preparation of project schedules
Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to have:

Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering
Recent college graduates encouraged to apply
EIT (E.I) Certification is desired but not required
0 - 4 years of experience
Experience with Micro Station 3D modeling and other CADD production software is preferred
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

Bonus points if you have:

Previous internship/coop experience in transportation and municipal design
Previous GDOT experience desired but not required
