Assignment Details
- Duration: 6–8 weeks (1099 independent contractor)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Setting: In-home care for pediatric patients
- Location: Atlanta, GA
- Pay Rate: $35/hour
- Transportation: Use of personal vehicle required; mileage reimbursement provided.
This role involves providing in-home care to pediatric patients while working independently and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The care team includes Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants), registered nurses, care navigators, pharmacists, psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and physicians. The focus is on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care.
What You’ll DoAs a Pediatric Home Care Specialist (Paramedic Certified) with Imagine Pediatrics, you will deliver in-home acute and longitudinal care as part of an interdisciplinary team using an integrated technology platform. Your role includes providing skilled, compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families in homes and community settings.
- Travel to patients’ homes or community locations to address acute, episodic, and social needs.
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, APPs, nurses, social workers, and therapists.
- Perform clinical skills within scope and local regulations (e.g., IV insertion, specimen collection, medication administration, EKGs).
- Provide assessments, point-of-care testing, education, and interventions under physician guidance via telehealth.
- Active Paramedic certification.
- Pediatric experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliable personal vehicle for travel between patient homes.
- Bilingual Spanish Preferred
This is an excellent opportunity for a paramedic seeking a meaningful, short-term assignment within a collaborative healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications- License: EMT-Paramedic with active license in the state of Atlanta, and/or Nationally Registered Paramedic (NREMT).
- Certifications: PALS, ACLS, and BLS required.
- Experience: 3+ years of field clinical experience. Nice to have: experience with pediatric patients and/or non-traditional Paramedic roles such as critical care, primary care, tele-health, community paramedicine, mobile integrated healthcare, emergency room, or value-based care delivery.
- Licenses: Valid Driver's License and good driving record, along with reliable transportation.
- Strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication skills, and effective collaboration.
- Skilled in bending, kneeling, and crawling on uneven terrain as required in emergency response environments.
- Capable of sitting, bending, and standing for extended periods while maintaining focus and readiness.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs from ground to waist level repeatedly during routine and emergency operations.
- Strong ability to coordinate closely with team members and perform effectively in high-stress situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience and ability to identify opportunities to build trust through delivering clinical and social impact for every member.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
- Experience and ability to use and navigate multiple technology platforms in care delivery.
- Bilingual Spanish Preferred.
