As a Customer Service Representative at the Wilkinson County Health Department in Irwinton, GA, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals who support the mission and vision of protecting the lives of Georgia residents in a variety of ways. As a Customer Service Representative you will play a vital role in supporting the Wilkinson County Health Department by delivering professional, courteous service and ensuring efficient front office operations.
This position serves as the primary point of contact for clients and supports clinical and administrative teams through accurate scheduling, record‑keeping, and clerical support.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Answer phones promptly, schedule appointments efficiently, and contact clients to confirm upcoming visits.
- Coordinate and manage client appointments while verifying demographics, eligibility, insurance coverage, and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records using EHR and scheduling systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collect and process client fees, issue receipts, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support nursing and clinical staff by preparing paperwork and assisting with daily front desk operations.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties including data entry, filing, scanning, and preparation of routine reports.
High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience communicating information in a customer service setting are required.
The DPH Commissioner and agency leaders encourage all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well‑being. The use of physical activity breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and help employees meet their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes of physical activity may be allocated per workday, typically in the form of two 15‑minute breaks or one 30‑minute break.

DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) as valid. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degrees, diplomas, licensures, and other relevant credentials.
