American Traveler is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist for an acute care hospital position requiring at least 2 years of SLP experience and weekend availability.
Responsibilities- Work in an acute care hospital setting supporting adult and varied inpatient populations
- Covers acute care patients throughout the hospital, including those with medical and surgical diagnoses such as ICU, stroke, neurological, dysphagia, respiratory compromise, and cognitive needs
- Shifts are 8-hour days, scheduled 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Minimum of 2 weekends per 4 weeks required, with 4 preferred
- 13-week contract assignment
- No floating or on-call requirement
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Permanent staff returning as travelers must have a 2-year break from previous employment at the facility
- RTO (requested time off) must be submitted upfront and cannot be changed after an offer is accepted
- References are required for compliance but not for initial consideration
- Dress code or scrubs details will be communicated upon assignment
- Facility does not accept local candidates within 50 miles
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in an acute care setting
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist license required if applicable
- Proficiency with modified barium swallow (MBS) or fiber optic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) a plus, but not required
- Must provide copies of AHA certifications (not expired)
- Ability to treat patients with a variety of complex medical and surgical conditions
