Job Summary

As a Health Department Administrative Manager within the Forsyth County Health Department at the District Two, Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. District 2 Public Health serves 13 counties in northeast Georgia, including Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of clerical staff.
  • Supervises staff that communicates with the general public, internal customers, and/or external customers to provide information and recommendations targeted to meet customer expectations.
  • Works with the County Nurse Manager to assure clinical services are provided.
  • Serve as the primary billing manager for third‑party payers.
  • Serve as the liaison for the Board of Health Members, management staff, and general public.
  • Prepares for and attends Board of Health meetings.
  • Resolves complicated issues involving customer service and/or researches governing policies, procedures or laws to respond to clients or visitors.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Attends meetings as requested.
  • Prepares monthly calendars.
  • Budget preparation and monthly review with nurse manager.
  • HIPAA privacy officer.
  • Building security.
  • Prepares invoices, POs, and deposits.
  • Completes yearly inventory.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND four years of lead/supervisory experience in a customer service setting communication information.
  • OR six years of lead/supervisory worker experience in a customer service setting communicating information.
  • OR four years of experience required at the lower level Customer Svc Rep Spv (GST
    123) or position equivalent.
