Valor Communities is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of IT & Software to lead the company's technology strategy, software initiatives, and day-to-day IT operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that our technology infrastructure supports the needs of a growing multi-market homebuilding organization while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, security, communication, and the overall employee and customer experience through technology.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with business acumen and can translate operational challenges into technology-driven solutions. This individual should also possess a strong understanding of emerging technologies, including Agentic AI, and be able to identify practical applications that drive innovation and efficiency across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and execute Valor Communities' overall IT strategy in alignment with company goals.
- Oversee all aspects of technology operations, including hardware, software, networking, telecommunications, and cybersecurity.
- Evaluate existing systems and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, integration, automation, and scalability.
- Lead the implementation, administration, and optimization of business applications and software platforms used throughout the organization.
- Identify opportunities to leverage Agentic AI and other emerging technologies to improve workflows, productivity, decision-making, and the employee and customer experience.
- Evaluate, implement, and manage AI-driven tools and automation solutions that support business objectives across multiple departments.
- Partner with department leaders to identify technology needs and recommend solutions that support operational objectives.
- Manage relationships with third-party technology vendors, consultants, and service providers.
- Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and security.
- Oversee data protection initiatives, backup systems, disaster recovery planning, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Manage software licensing and technology budgets.
- Provide leadership and guidance regarding future technology investments and digital transformation initiatives.
- Oversee user support functions and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend innovations that create value for the business.
- Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership regarding technology initiatives, performance, risks, and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in information technology leadership roles.
- Experience leading technology initiatives within a multi-location organization preferred.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, cybersecurity principles, cloud-based systems, and enterprise software platforms.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Agentic AI technologies, generative AI platforms, workflow automation tools, and AI-assisted productivity solutions.
- Experience evaluating and implementing technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and business performance.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and negotiating technology contracts.
- Proven ability to lead projects from concept through implementation.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in residential homebuilding, construction, real estate, or related industries.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, ERP platforms, HRIS systems, business intelligence tools, and customer experience technologies.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, PMP, ITIL, Microsoft, AWS, or similar credentials.
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional travel to company offices and communities may be required.
