In this onsite, contract-based opportunity located near Cumming, GA, youll provide dedicated 1:1 sign language interpretation for the academic year. Deeply enrich the learning environment for a single student, fostering communication access and participation from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027.
To excel in this assignment, candidates should bring:
- Active Georgia Department of Education SLI (Sign Language Interpreter) License (no HR waivers accepted)
- Prior experience interpreting in educational or school-based settings
- Strong American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency and ethical interpreting practices
- Ability to collaborate with educators, staff, and families in a team-oriented environment
- Reliability and commitment to the full school year
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing faithful and accurate ASL interpretation services for a designated student within a variety of classroom and school activities
- Partnering closely with teachers, support personnel, and student service teams to ensure seamless communication
- Maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with all relevant school policies
- Supporting the students participation in both academic and social situations throughout the school day
